Stainless Steel MicroWire

Stainless Steel MicroWire

Diameter Range: 0.03mm to 0.09 mm

Stainless Steel MicroWire is typically manufactured by drawing the material through a series of dies, progressively reducing the diameter. The wire may be annealed (heated and cooled) during the process to relieve stress, increase flexibility, and improve its ductility.

Applications: weaving screen mesh, braiding flexible hose, kitchen cleaning wire , mixed in ropes and poly wire etc.

Wires in the 0.07 mm to 0.9 mm range are considered Stainless Steel MicroWire. The specific diameter can influence the mechanical properties, including tensile strength and flexibility. The thinner the wire (closer to 0.07 mm), the more flexible and easier it is to manipulate for intricate designs or applications that require fine detail.

Stainless Steel MicroWire refers to stainless steel wire with extremely small diameter, which is usually used in applications requiring high precision and high strength.

Materials

201, 202, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 317, 410, 430, 904L, etc. If you have special material or wire diameter requirements, please contact us and we will customize production according to your needs.

Manufacturing process

● Wire drawing process: Through a series of wire drawing processes, the stainless steel raw materials are drawn into very fine wires through dies of different specifications to ensure the diameter, strength and surface quality of the wires.

● Annealing treatment: The performance of the microwires is improved through heating and cooling treatments to enhance their flexibility and tensile strength.

● Surface treatment: In order to increase the corrosion resistance of stainless steel microwires, they are sometimes surface polished, coated or otherwise treated to improve their adaptability in special environments.

Features

● Ultra-fine diameter: The diameter of stainless steel microwire is usually very small, even reaching several microns, so it has extremely high precision. It has a higher surface area and can meet a variety of precision processing needs.

● High strength: Despite its small diameter, the microwire has high strength and can withstand large tensile forces, which is suitable for applications requiring high strength and light weight.

● Good flexibility and wear resistance: Even with a small wire diameter, it can still maintain relatively good bendability and toughness, which is suitable for processes requiring high precision and flexibility.

● High temperature resistance: Stainless steel microwires are resistant to high temperatures and are suitable for use in high temperature environments to avoid performance degradation caused by temperature changes.

● Corrosion resistance: Due to the use of stainless steel, microwires can effectively resist external corrosion, such as salt spray, acid and alkali corrosion environments.

Some common uses of Stainless Steel MicroWire include

Mesh screens: Used in weaving wire cloth, the sieves or screens for separating fine particles.

● Cable Reinforcement: Stainless steel yarn is sometimes used to reinforce cables, particularly in the construction of flexible cables, hoses, and other products where strength and flexibility are required.

● Industrial & Construction:  Used in reinforcement bars, cables, wire ropes, and as tie wires.

● Automotive & Aerospace: Used for springs, fasteners, and components exposed to high stress.

● Electronics & Telecommunications: Stainless steel wire is often used in the manufacturing of connectors, antennas, and precision components.

● Art and Decoration: Stainless steel wire can also be used for creating sculptures, jewellery, and other artistic creations due to its malleability and strength.

● Textiles: It is used in fabrics that require conductive or anti-static properties, or in materials that need extra strength or resistance to wear and tear. This can include uniforms, safety wear, or other specialized textiles.

● Cable Reinforcement: Stainless steel yarn is sometimes used to reinforce cables, particularly in the construction of flexible cables, hoses, and other products where strength and flexibility are required.

Stainless steel microwire is a special wire with ultra-fine, high strength and corrosion resistance, which is widely used in many fields such as electronics, medical, aerospace, precision machinery, filtration, etc. Its fine diameter and strong performance make it an ideal choice for many high-precision and high-performance applications.
